Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking a dedicated Collections Representative to join a client's team in San Antiono, Texas. This role is essential in managing a designated portfolio of accounts to recover outstanding balances. The position requires a combination of excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills to ensure effective debt recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a portfolio of accounts, organizing, prioritizing, and strategically handling outreach to maximize recovery.
  • Engage in customer-centric communication by contacting debtors via phone or other communication channels to discuss their accounts, negotiate payment solutions, and resolve outstanding debts professionally and empathetically.
  • Negotiate payment plans, settlements, or alternative solutions, finding creative ways to help debtors fulfill their obligations while adhering to company policies and legal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records in the company database, logging all communication, updating account statuses, and documenting all actions taken to ensure a clear audit trail and team organization.
  • Follow all relevant laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and HIPAA, to ensure legal and ethical collection activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a call center environment.
    • Previous experience in collections, credit, or a related field is highly preferred.
    • Experience with a multi-line phone system (e.g., LiveVox, Noble, Avaya, Genesys, etc.) preferred.
    • Proficiency in using a large-scale customer database or CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Columbia Ultimate, etc.) preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Quick learner.
  • Languages:
    • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills are highly desirable.

Required Work Hours

  • Day: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM with 1 Saturday a month which is 8 AM - 12 PM shift
  • Day: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 6 PM with 1 Saturday a month which is 8 AM - 12 PM shift
    • If a candidate is open to working both 9 AM - 6 PM and 8 AM - 5 PM, please specify.
  • Night shift: Monday - Thursday, 12 PM - 9 PM, Friday 8 AM - 5 PM (No Saturdays)
  • Schedule is 8-5 for training, roughly 2 weeks.

Additional Details

  • Pay: Non-bilingual: $19.50/HR - reduces to $17.50/HR when permanent due to monthly bonuses
  • Bilingual: $20.50/HR - reduces to $18.50/HR when permanent due to monthly bonuses
  • Background check, drug test, and education verification required upon offer acceptance.
  • Tenure and call center experience are important; collections experience is preferred but not required.
